Fritz Kroeger Trophy
The Kroeger family donated this silver Revere bowl in 1961 to the M-16 Class to be sailed on the Sunday before Labor Day, with permanent possession to go to the skipper who wins it three times. In 1966, Jane Pegel won the trophy for permanent possession, and in 1970 she redonated it as a perpetual trophy to be awarded annually to the winner of a regularly scheduled championship series race. In 2007, the Yacht Club rededicated the Fritz Kroeger Trophy for competition in the Melges 17 Class. It is awarded to the winner of a championship series race.
