38 boats competed in a variety of sailing conditions during the 2011 Melges 24 National Championship held September 30 – October 2 and post-race enjoyed the Geneva style hospitality. Being good hosts, the Geneva team allowed the visitors to finish one-two. Bora Gulari from Detroit nipped out Conor Clarke from Dun Laoghaire, Ireland, to win with a one point margin. Brian Porter placed 3rd, Harry Melges, 4th. Others placing in the overall standings were, Tom Freytag, 12th; Mike Keefe, 20th; John Simms, 29th; Steve Boho, 32nd; Dave Weinberg, 33rd; Don Holst, 34th.
Top boat in the Corinthian Division was Tom Freytag’s Wicked Feet.

and Steve Boho were regatta co-chairs. Gloria Melges and Bob Pegel organized the race committee volunteers and equipment. George Kummer led the launch team. Kim Bliss, Julie Navin, and the rest of the Club staff made sure everything clicked. The visitors expressed their appreciation to all involved.
