The Crest of the Wave Prize

Chris and Walter Goes presented a silver platter to the Yacht Club in 1984 in memory of their mother, Martha Estelle Johnson Goes, to be awarded to the winner of the B series (Friday) for Class C. The trophy is named for their mother’s great grandfather, William S. Colley, who owned the Crest, a ship that made several fast voyages in the early 1860s between various North American ports and the west coast of South America.
